In addition to his work as a newspaper
reporter, Bond had also co-written an episode of Star Trek:
Voyager with Schnaufer. His wife said he was in the middle of a couple of movie projects that were left unfinished. "Just like everyone else in Los Angeles, Ed had scripts in the bottom drawer of his desk," Schnaufer said. "He was a complete hack. I'm the only reason he ever sold anything." He also liked animals and, at the time of his death, had three dogs and two cats. "Oh sure, now I'm the one who has to clean up after these furry beasts," Amy Bond said. Bond had earned a bachelor's degree in politics from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and a master's degree in journalism from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. Bond is survived by his wife; his son, John H. Bond; his father, Edward G. Bond Sr.; his mother Nona Bond, both of Point Pleasant Beach N.J.; and his sisters, Karen Bond of Los Angeles and Jane Roberts Bond of Somerset N.J. No memorial is scheduled. Donations can be made to the Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Cats For Life. |
