Galen, as he faces the worst of the preliminary stages of distemper.
He is feverish. His eyes, nose and upper respiratory system are infected.
Our regular vet confirmed that he had the disease. Irreversible seizures
would be the next phase.
Here I am saying goodbye the night before he was taken to see Dr. Sears.
We didn't really expect to see him alive again.
Here he is a few weeks later
on a trip to Vasquez Rocks.
He is completely
cured and healthy.
Galen lived a full life and
never showed any signs of seizure.
Here he is in December 2004.
He died of liver disease in October 2006.
